Clark, Gaddis and Theron Podium On Second Day Of DII Outdoor Championships

RESULTS

PUEBLO, Colo. – All three of the Lee University athletes that were in action on the second day of the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships found their way onto the podium at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl.

Liezl Theron began the day in the high jump where she placed second with a Lee University record clearance of 1.79 meters. The senior made her first attempt at 1.63 meters. After fouling on her first two attempts at 1.68 meters, Theron moved on with a make. She cleared 1.73 meters on her second try, 1.76 meters on her first and 1.79 meters on the second jump. Theron missed on all three attempts at 1.82 meters. Emy Ntekpere of Central Washington claimed the top spot with a height of 1.82 meters.

Luke Gaddis and Stephen Clark podiumed in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Gaddis completed the circuit in 9:03.37 to claim fifth place. Clark finished two spots behind in seventh place at 9:04.71. Titouan Le Grix of Wingate was the winner at 8:47.62.

The Lady Flames are tied for 10th with eight points with seven of 21 events scored. They have three members competing in two different events on Saturday. Brynn Depinet begins the day at 1 p.m. ET in the pole vault finals. Lily Hare and Estella Clemons return to the track for the finals of the 1500-meter run at 7:35 p.m. There will be 10 other runners challenging for one of the eight podium spots.

With eight of 21 events completed the Lee men have collected six points and are tied for 18th in the team standings. The Flames have one more event remaining to add to their point total. Edimo Ninteretse is scheduled to run in the 5000-meter run finals at 10:30 p.m.
