Lady Flames 29th, Flames Tie For 33rd At DII Outdoor Championships

Teams Combine For Five All-American Performances

FINAL RESULTS

PUEBLO, Colo. – The Lee University Women's Track & Field team finished 29th and the men tied for 33rd at the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The three-day championships were held at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl.

The women completed the weekend with nine points. The Lady Flames entered the final day with eight points from Liezl Theron's second-place finish in the high jump and added one more point in the 1500-meter run on Saturday. Grand Valley State was the team champion with 60 points just ahead of Adams State at 59. Pittsburg State placed third with 54.5 points.

The men collected six total points with them all coming from the 3000-meter steeplechase where Luke Gaddis placed fifth and Stephen Clark finished seventh. The Flames were tied with Ashland University, Augustana (S.D.), Fort Hays State, Northern State and Wilmington (Del.). Pittsburg State was the men's champion with 111 points. West Texas A&M was second with 66 points and Grand Valley State (48) was third.

Brynn Depinet began the final day for the Lady Flames. She missed on her first two attempts in the pole vault at 3.77 meters before a successful clearance to move on to 3.92 meters where she cleared on the first attempt. Depinet missed on all three tries at 4.07 meters and finished in 14th place at 3.92 meters.

Estella Clemons and Lily Hare were the Lady Flames' last opportunity to add to their point total in the 1500-meter final. Clemmons crossed the finish line at 4:33.18 for eighth place and one more team point. Hare was close behind at 4:38.08 to claim 11th place. Klaudia O'Malley of Grand Valley State was the winner with a time of 4:29.11.

Edimo Ninteretse was the final Lee athlete to compete at the championships. He entered the 5000-meter run as the No. 22 seed and improved on that standing after stopping the clock at 15:23.16 for 20th place.

For the weekend, the Flames and Lady Flames combined for five All-American performances. Theron, Gaddis, Clark and Clemons earned First Team honors by finishing in the top eight of their respective events, while Hare grabbed a Second Team mention after placing between ninth and 12th in her event.
