It was a sweep for the Lee University men's golf team as both teams entered in the Dunning Invitational took the top two spots. Team A took the win by shooting a 843 which was 36 strokes better than Lee's second team. Team B shot a 879 to finish in second place which was three strokes better than host school Delta State University who came in third with an 882.
Team A consisted of Drew Zielinksi, George Cordall, Tucker Wick, Bennett McNabb and Noah Farland. The five of them tied the Lee school record for a best 36-hole performance shooting a 555 over the two rounds.
Team B had Matthew Render, Tobias Buffam, Mitchell Strickland, Samuel Johnson, and Jacob Rose. Their 287 in round two was better than every other school in the field.
With Hannah Nall and Emilia Nordström leading the way, the Lee University women's golf team carried home the first-place trophy from the Savannah Lakes Women's Fall Invitational that was played at the Monticello Golf Club and hosted by Lander University. It was the second straight year the Lady Flames have won the event.
Nall got the Lady Flames off to an outstanding start in Monday's play when she fired back-to-back rounds of 3-under par 69. In the final round of the 54-hole event on Tuesday the senior cooled a bit and posted an even-par 72, finishing with a 211 and entered a playoff for medalist honors with Carson-Newman's Emery Fisher. Nall lost on the first hole of the playoff.
