BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the first time this season, Avery Sample of the Lee University volleyball team was named the Gulf South Conference freshman of the week. It is the first time since 2024 that a Lee athlete has earned freshman of the week accolades. Payton Danley in November of 2024 was the last Lady Flame to earn the award.

Sample had 67 digs in 14 sets this week. She averaged 4.79 digs a set. As a libero she added seven assists and one service ace.
