HUNTSVILLE, ALA. –The Lee University volleyball team saw their four-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday night as the Flames lost in three straight sets to UAH. The Chargers, who are the top team in the GSC, improved to 21-2 and 13-1 in the Gulf South Conference. Meanwhile, Lee fell to 12-10 overall and 8-7 in GSC action. Lee will return home for a non-conference matchup against King University on Thursday. That game will tip off at 12 PM.
Lee hung tight in both set one and set two. They lost set one 25-22 and lost set two 25-23. In the first set Lee kept it close and tied it at 20-20 but UAH rattled off a 5-2 run to win the first set. It was another tight set in the second frame and it was tied at 23-23 before UAH scored the final two points. The third set was close early before UAH went on a run. The set was tied at 11-11 before UAH found a groove and won 25-15.
Both teams had 39 kills in the match. The big difference was that Lee had 23 attack errors while UAH only had 12. Both teams struggled in the serve. Lee had one ace and five service errors. UAH had five aces and seven services errors.

Coach Christa Fabre's Thoughts:
"Outside of a serve-receive rut in the first set, I felt like we had control of UAH through the first two sets. Offensively, they struggled to find ways to stop us, but we didn't do a good enough job of being aggressive and intentional with our serving. That allowed them to get into a rhythm just a little more consistently than we did, and ultimately, that was the difference in the first two sets.
The third set was disappointing because we let our energy and confidence drop rather than continuing to compete and execute. I'm disappointed in the way we responded in that set, because I believe we're capable of much more. We have to learn to stay aggressive, trust what we do well, and respond with the same level of fight regardless of the circumstances."
