Elliott graduated from Wright State University (Dayton, Ohio) in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in science Majoring in Organizational Leadership, and a minor in Business. As a standout pitcher with the Raiders, he earned the Ron Nischwitz Award for being his team's top pitcher in 2014 and 2015. Andrew claimed First-Team All-Horizon League Honors in 2014 and 2015; Horizon League Reliever of the Year in 2014 and 2015; and ABCA All-American and Perfect Game Summer Collegiate All-American Selections in 2014. He finished with 25 saves in his career, good for third on the all-time Raider list.

Elliott was selected in the 30th round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles and played professional ball in the minor leagues for four years. After his playing days were over, he served as the pitching coach at renowned IMG academy in Florida. After IMG, Elliott joined Lincoln Trail as the pitching coach/recruiting coordinator for the 2020 and 2021 seasons. His Lincoln Trail team finished the 2020-21 season with a 32-21 record, and a second-place finish in the GRAC Conference. His pitching staff placed 10th in NJCAA D1 in shutouts and 16th in strikeouts.

Coach Elliott wasted no time making his mark on the 2021-22 Flames. He tutored two GSC First- Team All-Conference pitchers in Miguel Alba and Freshman of the Year Jack Nedrow and Second-Team GSC relief pitcher Sam Fulton. The staff posted 396 strikeouts and hit its stride in a stretch run that found the Flames capturing the GSC Tournament Championship, qualifying for a second consecutive trip to the NCAA South Regional. Alan Carter signed professionally under Coach Elliott and has advanced to double A for the Angels organization in just one short year. In 2023 he directed a Flames staff that had some adversity through injury, but still posted the second most strikeouts in the GSC.

Said Lee Head Coach Mark Brew, "Coach Elliott quickly established himself with our pitching staff in 2022 and led them to an amazing run through the post-season. In 2023 we hit some adversity early, but he helped piece the staff together and we make a big run at the GSC tournament. He is ready to get this group moving in the right direction in 2024 and will have some experienced arms mixed with some fresh faces. I am excited to see the strides he makes with them.”
