Chase Hetzel

Chase Hetzel joins the Lee University baseball coaching staff with extensive experience in offensive development, player evaluation, recruiting, and data-driven player development at the collegiate, professional, and private levels.

Hetzel most recently served coaching hitters and outfielders at Valparaiso University. During his time at Valparaiso, the program saw improvements in runs, hits, doubles, triples, extra-base hits, batting average, slugging percentage, OPS, and stolen bases. The team also recorded its second-most doubles in a season since joining the Missouri Valley Conference and had multiple players hit over .300 for the first time in three seasons.

Hetzel has also served as the Director of Hitting at X2 Baseball, where he designed individualized development programs utilizing Blast Motion, Rapsodo, HitTrax, and other performance technologies. He has worked extensively with high school, collegiate, and professional athletes, with responsibility for the development of more than 200 high school players, 80 college players, and 15 professional players. His responsibilities have included swing analysis, video breakdown, offensive game planning, opponent scouting, and the development of individualized hitting programs.

A graduate of Queens University in Charlotte, Hetzel earned a Bachelor of Sport Management in 2021. He and his wife Elizabeth will relocate to Cleveland.
