Coach Saez begins his seventh season on Coach Brew’s staff and his sixth season directing the Lee hitters.
Saez played for the Flames in 2012 and helped Lee post a 56-11-1 record while advancing to the Final Four of the NAIA World Series. The Flames captured the NAIA Opening Round Championship and the SSAC Tournament Championship while finishing as the SSAC Regular Season Runner-Up. Jorge earned 2012 SSAC Academic All-Conference honors and was named the 2012 SSAC Tournament MVP. He finished the season with a .303 batting average, 13 doubles, six home runs, and 42 RBI.
Following his collegiate career, Saez was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 32nd round of the 2012 MLB Draft. During his professional career, he earned community service awards in 2015 and 2019 and was selected by the New York Yankees in the Rule 5 Draft in December 2016. He spent time in Major League
Spring Training with the Yankees and completed an eight-year professional career between the Blue Jays and Yankees organizations, earning a reputation for his defensive excellence behind the plate.
After retiring from professional baseball, Saez returned to Lee in the spring of 2020 and completed his degree in Business Finance in 2021. Saez earned his Master of Business Administration degree on July 27, 2024.
In his first season as the Flames’ hitting coach in 2022, Lee led the Gulf South Conference (GSC) in hits while ranking second in triples, third in home runs, and fifth in doubles. The offense excelled in postseason play, averaging 8.4 runs per game throughout the GSC and NCAA South Regional Tournaments.
In 2023, the Flames again ranked among the GSC’s top offensive teams, leading the conference with 82 home runs while finishing fourth in doubles, third in triples, and second in stolen bases. Saez guided freshman Malachi Cloud to All-GSC and All-Region honors, while Riley Black earned Second Team All-GSC recognition.
The 2024 season saw the Flames lead the GSC in several offensive categories while posting a 39-18 record. Lee batted .315 (3rd in the GSC), hit 99 home runs (1st), recorded 114 doubles (1st), and drew 296 walks (1st). Brandon Daniels and Cam Suto earned All-American honors, while Dylan Standifer received All-Conference recognition.
In 2025, the Flames led the GSC with 111 stolen bases and finished among the conference’s top five teams in numerous offensive categories. Saez mentored All-Conference catcher Isaiah French and outfielder JJ Williams.
The 2026 season marked another dominant offensive campaign for the Flames. Under Saez’s direction, Lee led the GSC in batting average (.330), home runs (71), doubles (109), and triples (17), while finishing second with 105 stolen bases. The Flames placed four players on the All-GSC First Team—Isaiah French, Luke Collier, Landon Franklin, and Cody Turner—while Braden Gabel earned Second Team honors. Collier and Turner were also named All-Americans.

His recruiting efforts have helped position the Flames with multiple regional appearances during his six years leading the hitting and recruiting, and he has also excelled in overseeing the development of our catchers. He has been a major contributor to our on-field success and is a rising star in the coaching profession.”
