He directed his first seven Lee teams to the NAIA College World Series before leading the transition to NCAA Division II and the Gulf South Conference in 2014.

In addition to his role as skipper of the baseball team, Brew was named the Director of Facilities and Game Operations for the Athletic Department in July of 2023. In this role he will oversee the setup, management, and logistics of all Lee home athletic events.

Brew has been named a conference Coach of the Year three times (2008, 2010, 2021) and has been named a Region Coach of the Year six times (2008-2013). In 2008 he was named NAIA National Coach of the Year. He was also named SSAC Men’s Coach of the Year for the 2008 and 2011 campaigns.

During the 2024 annual ABCA Convention (America Baseball Coaches Association) at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Dallas, Texas Coach Brew was presented the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award which goes to an individual who embodies the ABCA Code of Ethics.
Brew will celebrate his 20th year during the 2025-26 season. His 2024-25 team was only the second club in his 19-year head coach career at Lee to post a losing record. The Flames were 24-26 overall and 16-17 in GSC play. His outstanding overall coaching record is 734-336-2. In GSC tourney action this past season Lee suffered a pair of close defeats to Valdosta State and Trevecca.
JJ Williams was honored as a member of the Spring GSC All-Academic team. He posted a 3.88 GPA in psychology. On the playing field JJ was on Second Team All-GSC, posting outstanding numbers. He was tenth in the GSC in hits and 11th in runs scored. He was seventh in doubles and third in triples. As Lee’s leadoff hitter, JJ had the most at bats (in GSC). In the outfield, he had 106 putouts with just one error.
The honors continued for Williams, and he was joined by four teammates on the 2025 Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, who recognize the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. Luke Collier, Ashton Simmons, Malachi Cloud, and Isaiah French joined Williams. Collier had a 3.89 GPA in engineering science. Simmons graduated with a 3.83 GPA in business management. Cloud had a 3.87 GPA in accounting, while French had a 3.65 GPA in business administration. Cooper Castell joined French and Williams on the All-GSC Second Team
The Flames helped Brew celebrate his 700th coaching win (all at Lee) on April 10, 2024, with a 10-5 victory over Tusculum. The Flames finished the season with a 39-18 record and Brew’s overall coaching mark moved to 710-307-2. Lee claimed the GSC regular season championship (23-7 record) and received an at-large bid to the NCAA National DII South Regional Tournament in Tampa, Fla. The Flames placed second in the Regional, falling to the University of Tampa, a team that moved on to win the DII National Championship.

Jack Nedrow punctuated a fantastic junior season by being named a National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) First Team All-American. He is Lee’s first player to be named a DII 1st Team All-American. He posted an 11-1 pitching record with a 3.22 ERA. Later Cam Suto and Brandon Daniels were named third-team All-Americans by the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-American committee. Nedrow was also the Gulf South Conference pitcher of the year and was joined on the GSC First Team by Keegan Gagliardo, Tim Gooden, and Daniels. Dylan Standifer joined Nedrow, Suto and Daniels on the All-South Region team and Standifer was selected as the prestigious Dr. Paul Conn Athlete of the Year. Sandifer (4.0 GPA), Tim Gooden (3.93) and Nedrow (3.47) were listed on the Gulf South Conference Spring All-Academic team.

Lee finished the 2023 season at 28-25 overall and battled to grab one of the eight slots in the Gulf South Conference (GSC) Tournament with a 15-15 mark. The Flames opened tourney play with upset over No. 2 Montevallo and No. 6 Shorter before falling to No. 4 Valdosta and No.1 West Florida to end the season. Freshman Malachi Cloud was rewarded for his outstanding year by being named All-South Region and All-GSC, while Riley Black earned spots on the GSC and Region second teams.

The 2022 season saw the Flames post a 33-24 overall record and 17-12 in GSC play. After a slow start during the regular season (12-17 at one point) the Brew Crew came battling back, winning the GSC Conference championship and falling to Rollins College in the South Region tournament. Rollins went on to beat No.1-ranked University of Tampa and advanced to the NCAA DII World Series.

Regular season honors were awarded to pitcher Jack Nedrow, who was named the GSC Freshman of the Year. Pitcher Miguel Alba joined Nedrow on the All-GSC first team while big Sam Fulton was a second-team relief hurler and Dylan Standifer landed a spot on the All-GSC second team. In tourney play, Thomas Zazzaro was the MVP of the GSC tournament. Justin Freeman, Joshua Perez, and Fulton were named to the all-tournament squad.

The 2021 season saw the Flames post a record of 36-11 and 26-6 in GSC play. Lee finished the season ranked No. 12 and was ranked as high as No. 2 during the season. The Flames captured the GSC regular-season title. Coach Brew also took his team to the NCAA DII South Regional tournament where they were defeated by a University of Tampa team that claimed the South Regional championship. Logan Workman was a standout the entire season and was drafted in the seventh round by the Tampa Bay Rays.

Workman and Ryan Beamish earned ABCA All-American honors. Workman also was selected to the NCBWA All-American team. The Flames rewarded Brew with his 600th coaching win on April 17, 2021, defeating West Alabama. His overall coaching record stands at 610-231-2. Brew was named the South Region and Gulf South Conference Coach of the Year in 2021.

The 2020 season was shortened to only 23 games due to the Covid19 virus. The Flames finished 14-9 overall and were 6-3 in GSC play, when the season came to a sudden end. In 2019 Coach Brew saw his club suffer their only losing season (23-26).

The 2018 season saw the Flames finish seventh in the regular season to earn the program's second berth to the GSC Tournament. The team recorded a 2-1 record in pool play and advanced to the championship game, where it fell by a 7-6 score to No. 4-seed Mississippi College.

Brew earned his 500th career coaching victory on March 18, 2017. All 500 of those victories came as leaders of the Flames. Brew's squad finished with a 30-18 record in 2016 and advanced to its first GSC Tournament with an 18-11-mark (6th-place) conference record.

The 2015 team posted a 39-19-1 overall record and 17-13-1 in league play. After a successful regular season, the Flames went on to host and win the NCCAA Mid-East Region Tournament for the second straight season and advance to the World Series in Mason, Ohio. Lee would secure a second consecutive second-place finish after falling to Fresno Pacific in the national championship game.
