Micah Kaczor begins his second season as assistant coach and pitching coach for Head Coach Mark Brew and the Lee Flames. A former professional pitcher in the Colorado Rockies organization, Kaczor brings four years of professional playing experience and five years of collegiate coaching experience to the Flames program.
Born in Logan, Utah, Kaczor spent part of his high school career in Jacksonville, Florida, before completing his final prep seasons at Ravenwood High School in Brentwood, Tennessee. He began his collegiate career at Western Kentucky University before transferring to St. Petersburg College, where he earned an Associate of Arts degree. He then finished his playing career at East Tennessee State University (ETSU), earning a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies.
Kaczor distinguished himself as both a high school and collegiate pitcher. At Ravenwood, he earned All-State honors and was named Region 6 Pitcher of the Year. At ETSU, he was selected First Team All-Southern Conference and was twice named National Pitcher of the Week. He finished his career with the second-lowest single-season ERA in ETSU history and was a key member of one of the top three pitching staffs in program history.
Prior to joining Lee, Kaczor served on the coaching staff at ETSU and King University, where he quickly established himself as one of the region’s rising pitching coaches. During the 2025 season at King, his pitching staff recorded the fourth-most strikeouts in a single season in program history and earned victories over nationally ranked No. 4 North Georgia and No. 8 Young Harris. He also mentored a freshman pitcher who finished among the conference leaders in ERA, innings pitched, and batting average against.
During the 2024 season at ETSU, Kaczor helped guide a pitching staff that recorded 456 strikeouts, the second-highest total in program history. His staff also produced multiple All-Southern Conference performers.
In his first season at Lee in 2026, Kaczor made an immediate impact on the Flames pitching staff. Lee finished second in the Gulf South Conference standings and earned a runner-up finish in the NCAA South Regional. Under his direction, the Flames ranked third in the GSC in ERA, strikeouts, opponent batting average, and innings pitched. Kaczor also oversaw the development of several award-winning pitchers. Sophomore Evan Bloomer earned Third Team All-America honors, First Team All-Region recognition, and First Team All-GSC accolades, while Gage Shaver was selected Second Team All-GSC.
Head Coach Mark Brew praised Kaczor’s impact on the program, stating, “Micah came in and immediately transformed our pitching staff. Many of our pitchers enjoyed the best seasons of their careers, and he did an outstanding job keeping the staff together despite several key midseason injuries. He connects exceptionally well with our pitchers, communicates effectively, and brings a strong technical understanding of pitching development. We are excited to see the continued growth of our staff under his leadership.”
Kaczor and his wife, Alexis, have one daughter, Mabel.
