Sami Rutowski is beginning her second year as a graduate assistant for the Lee University Women’s Soccer Team.

Rutowski played all four years at Northern Kentucky University where she started 63 of the 68 games played. Sami lead the team as a captain both her junior and senior year.
 
In her senior campaign, Rutowski was part of the most successful Division I season for the Norse where they won the Horizon League Championship, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Division I tournament. Sami spent time as a central midfielder as well as a center back. She also earned a spot on the Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team and Horizon League All-Academic Team holding a 3.98 GPA.

The Mason, Ohio, native earned her undergraduate degree in Human Services and Addictions. Sami will be working towards a Master’s in School Counseling during her time at Lee.

HENNESSEY ON RUTOWSKI: “Sami really impressed me during her first year and was an unsung hero both on and off the field. She will continue to do a lot of the behind the scenes logistics for the program. Sami brings a tremendous amount of energy and I am excited to see her continue grow over the next year.”
