Coach Tabisz was named Head Coach of the Lady Flames in May of 2021 to replace the retiring Andrea Hudson who had directed the Lee volleyball teams for 30 seasons. Not only did the new coach get a late start on recruiting, but several members of her Lady Flames’ team were also forced to miss preseason practices and early-season games due to an outbreak of Covid-19.
The Lady Flames battled through the problems and finished with an overall mark of 7-20 and 5-11 in the rugged GSC. Cheered on by solid homecourt fans, the Lady Flames posted a winning 6-5 record inside Walker Arena.
Tabisz was a Gulf South Conference standout setter at the University of West Alabama. She came to Lee from Cedarville (Ohio) University, a NCAA Division II program, where she served for two years an assistant. Her final season at Cedarville, she helped guide the Yellow Jackets to the program's first-ever AVCA Top 25 ranking. Tabisz coached two All-Americans and six G-MAC all-conference selections at Cedarville.
A four-year starter at West Alabama (2013-16), Tabisz racked up 2,977 career assists, which stand as third all-time in the program’s history. She was also sixth in West Alabama’s rich volleyball history in service aces with 119, and was named a team captain in 2016, ranking in the top 25 nationally in assists. She was a three-time AVCA All-Academic team member and four-time GSC Honor Roll selection.
While at West Alabama the talented athlete earned a bachelor's degree in integrated marketing communications with an emphasis in sports media. She also served as the Tigers' Coordinator for Athletic Digital Media. After graduating she worked in the sports information office at Saginaw Valley State University and handled digital media content for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference. In addition to her media roles, she was the Head Coach of Team Detroit Volleyball Club in West Bloomfield, Michigan, from 2017-19.
Callie and her husband, Trevor Tabisz, are currently making their home in Cleveland.
