Emileigh Swafford has been named Lee University's Female Athlete of the Week after guiding the Lady Flames to a 3-0 start during the opening week of the 2014-15 campaign.

The freshman forward started the week with 12 points and five boards as Lee topped Truett-McConnell 65-44 on Monday night. Swafford would strike for 26 points and swipe five steals in Thursday's 80-64 victory over rival Tennessee Temple. She finished the busy week on Saturday with a double-double (12 points, 13 rebounds) to guide the Lady Flames past Brescia 70-54.

"I thought that Swafford started off slow in the second half (on Thursday) and we pulled her out and talked with her and she came back and played great the rest of the way," said head coach Marty Rowe.

“Emileigh is a tremendously skilled and versatile wing," added Rowe. "She can score from multiple positions and we expect her to make an immediate impact as a freshman.”

Swafford is a native of Decatur, Tenn. and attended Meigs County High School. She and the Lady Flames will be back in action on Thursday Dec. 4 as they open up conference play against Christian Brothers at 6 p.m. in Walker Arena.
