Christina Johnson has been named Lee University's Female Athlete of the Week after a dominating performance in the Lady Flames' victory over Christian Brothers on Saturday afternoon.
The junior forward registered a double-double with a career-high 20 points to go along with 15 rebounds as the Lady Flames defeated the Lady Bucs, 69-57 in Memphis.
"Christina was unbelievable," said Lee University head coach Marty Rowe. "Not only did she score and rebound, she held their best player to 14 points; and she had to take 26 shots to get there."
Johnson was the trend-setter for the Lady Flames making 7-of-8 shots from the floor, her only 3-point attempt and 5-of-6 free throw attempts. Lee made 54.3 percent (25-for-46) of their shots from the field and a season-high 61.5 percent (8-for-13) from behind the arc.
The Atlanta, Ga. native leads the team with 131 rebounds, averaging 8.2 per contest. Johnson has tallied three double-doubles on the year to help lead the Lady Flames to 11-5 overall and an 8-5 mark in the Gulf South Conference.
