Women's basketball player Emileigh Swafford has been named Lee University's Female Athlete of the Week after setting a career high in points scored last week.

Swafford dropped 33 points in 32 minutes to lead the Lady Flames past West Alabama on Thursday by a 63-58 margin. The Decatur, Tenn. native was 13-of-26 from the field and converted 6-of-7 from the foul line. Swafford added five rebounds and swiped two steals in the contest.

"Emileigh is so talented, " said head coach Marty Rowe after the win on Thursday. "She played an outstanding game tonight and we needed every point."

The freshman from Meigs County High School added 17 points on Saturday as the Lady Flames fell, 72-60 at West Georgia. Swafford leads the team with 16.1 points per game and has scored in double-figures in 17 of the 21 games she has played in this season.

Swafford and the Lady Flames will look to improve on a 14-8 mark when they host Mississippi College on Thursday at 6 p.m.
