Lee women's basketball standout Shelby Brown has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Player of the Week after guiding the Lady Flames to the Mid-East Region crown last week.

Lee hosted the two-day event at Walker Arena and made quick work of Hiwassee College on Thursday and Tennessee Temple on Friday to punch its ticket to the NCCAA National Tournament on March 18-21 in Winona Lake, Ind on the campus of Grace College.

Brown led the Lady Flames with 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field and grabbed eight rebounds as the Lady Flames throttled the Tigers, 102-49.  The freshman forward would help clinch the region has she tallied 29 points going 10-of-15 from the field in a 84-57 victory over the Lady Crusaders. Brown registered a double-double pulling down 13 rebounds (six offensive) and added a season-high five blocked shots.

The native of Goodletsville, Tenn. has played in all 28 games for head coach Marty Rowe, helping to guide the Lady Flames to a 20-8 record and a fourth-place finish in the Gulf South Conference. Brown averaged 11.5 points per game and 6.4 rebounds per game. She hit 53.7 percent from the field and steps outside to shoot a sizzling 41.3 percent from 3-point range.
