Lee softball slugger Kaylie Drew has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association Student-Athlete of the Week after guiding the Lady Flames to a 5-1 week.

Drew was a sizzling 11-for-17 at the dish with 13 RBI, three doubles and two home runs as the Lady Flames swept Tennessee Temple on Wednesday and took 2-of-3 from Gulf South Conference foe Delta State over the weekend. The Fallbrook, Calif. native leads the team with a .411 average, 11 homers and 11 doubles.

Drew paced the Lady Flames doubleheader sweep of the Crusaders going 3-for-8 with four runs scored, five RBI and a home run. The junior followed up that performance with a perfect 7-for-7 day at the plate, seven RBI and another four-bagger as Lee extended its winning streak to seven straight with a sweep of Delta State on Friday.

The Lady Flames are currently 26-14 and 14-9 in league play thanks in large part to the contributions of Drew both with the bat and at the hot corner. After losing All-American slugger Ana Coscorrosa to graduation the third-baseman has filled the void in the cleanup spot for head coach Emily Russell.

Drew and the Lady Flames will get back to work on Saturday as they travel to Florence to battle No. 10 North Alabama in a three-game weekend set.
