Kaylie Drew has been named the Lee University Female Athlete of the Week after helping to guide the Lady Flames to a 3-1 mark last week to finish off the regular season.
Drew started the week with a 2-for-4 peformance on Wednesday as the Lady Flames throttled Tennessee Temple, 13-2. The junior drove in two and scored two runs.
Drew opened up the weekend three-game set with the Lady Bucs with a double in two trips to the plate as the Lady Flames fell 5-2 on Saturday night. The third baseman followed that up with a three-run home run in game one on Saturday to help propel Lee to a 5-1 victory.
The Fallbrook, Calif. native finished the week up a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI and a pair of runs scored in Lee's 11-8 slugfest victory over Christian Brothers. On the week Drew was 7-for-12 with a home run, three doubles, seven RBI and five runs scored.
Drew leads the team with 15 homers on the season and is just three shy of matching the single-season record at Lee set by Johana Gomez in 2010. She also boasts team-highs in batting average (.420), slugging percentage (.813), on base percentage (.500), doubles (14) and RBI (53).
