Silvia Sartori has been named Lee University's Female Athlete of the Week after helping to guide the volleyball team to 4-1 start over the weekend.

Sartori, the red-shirt freshman from Belgrade, Serbia registered 45 kills and 13 aces as the Lady Flames went 3-1 in their annual Lee Invitational, last Friday and Saturday.

The outside hitter bounced right back on Tuesday, to register 12 slams in a 3-0 blanking of Trevecca Nazarene.

"Silvia is really starting to gain confidence for us," said head coach Andrea Hudson. "She is a back row player as well so sometimes if she isn't playing well there it effects her front line play but I think she is learning and progressing forward."

Sartori and the Lady Flames will enter the rugged Gulf South Conference portion of the schedule beginning this weekend. Lee travels to 10-0 Alabama-Huntsville on Friday at 8 p.m. before heading up the road to Florence to tangle with North Alabama on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.
