Adrian Martin was named the Lee University Female Athlete of the Week on Tuesday after her performance this past weekend at the Emory Invitational in Atlanta, Ga.
In the 100 meter preliminaries, Martin, a junior from Marietta, Ga., Â recorded a time of 12.32. She then posted an 11.88 in the final to set a new Lee record. The junior was just 0.20 seconds behind West Georgia's Ashley Davis with a mark of 25.10. The time also eclipsed the provisional standard (11.99) to qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championship.
Martin joined with Moneque Beckford, Amanda Hegarty and Kiley Brock to set a program record (48.33) and finish third in the 4x100 meter relay.
"Our 4x100 relay had a great showing in their first outing together," said Morgan. "They will be a force at the conference meet."
Martin and the Lady Flames will run again on Saturday in the Shorter Relays from Rome, Ga.
