Senior forward David Perez has been named the Lee University Male Athlete of the Week after scoring two goals in Lee's two victories last week.

Perez and the Flames started the week off with a road trip to Nashville on Tuesday to battle Trevecca Nazarene. The Dalton, Ga. native helped Lee snap a three-match losing streak with a goal in the 36th minute. The Flames would go on to tally two more goals en route to a 3-1 victory over the Trojans.

On Friday night the Flames scored in the first 20 seconds of the match and never looked back as they rolled past Auburn Montgomery, 6-0. Perez tallied a goal at the 10:53 mark to put Lee up 2-0. The Flames would score four second half goals off the Warhawks in the contest.

Coming off an All-American junior campaign, Perez continues to excel on the pitch with a team-high four goals and three assists this season. The Flames will test North Georgia at home on Thursday at 7 p.m. before wrapping up the non-conference portion of the schedule with a trip to Cedarville (Ohio) on Saturday at 7 p.m.
