BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the third time this season, Abby Bertram is the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week.
Showcasing a talented freshman class, this is now the fifth time this year that a member of the Lee team has earned the award. On the year, Bertram averages 11.7 points per game, but this week, the freshman averaged 22.0 points per game in two games. She also averaged 4.5 rebounds per game and 5.5 assists per game.
The Kingston, Tenn. native led the team in scoring in both contests and had a career-high nine assists in the win over Christian Brothers. Â
Bertram and the Lady Flames are now 14-6 overall and tied for second in the GSC at 9-5. Lee will host one of the teams they are tied with for second place in North Alabama on Thursday at 6 p.m. before heading on the road to begin a three-game road trip at Alabama Huntsville on Saturday.
