Cayce Bryan was named Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Female Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for the second time in the three weeks after runnning at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn. this past weekend. Bryan and the Lee track team ran against several NCAA Division I programs, including schools from the Big Ten and Mid-American Conferences.
The sophomore from Las Vegas, Nev. improved upon her qualifying mark from two weeks ago with a new school record for the outdoor 800 Meter Run. She placed 12th with a time of 2:13.52, holding her at No. 4 in the NAIA rankings.
Bryan joined teammates Storyie Miller, Jessica Childers and Emily Arnesen in the 4x800 Meter Relay. The Lady Flames ran a national qualifying mark of 9:30 and placed eighth. The Lady Flames are currently seeded No. 2 in the NAIA rankings for the 4x800 Meter Relay.
Bryan will lead the women's outdoor track squad to the SSAC Championships in Rome, Ga., April 26-27.
