BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Thanks to strong finish in the 100 and 200 meter dashes Lee University women's track & field  standout Kayla Williams was recognized as the GSC Freshman of the Week the league office announced on Wednesday.

Williams is now the GSC leader in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.04 at the Emory Classic. She's also a member of the 4x100 relay team that had an NCAA provisional and Lee record time of 46.83. That time ranks 10^th nationally. She also competed in the 200-meter dash where she finished 12^th with a time of 25.87.

The 33^rd-ranked Lady Flames get back to action on Saturday with a trip to Huntsville, Ala., for the Gulf South/Peach Belt Challenge.
