Ana Coscorrosa has been named Lee University's Female Athlete of the Week after going 8-for-17 at the plate with a home run and three doubles last week for the Lady Flames.

Coscorrosa started the week with two doubles, including the game-winner, in a 5-3 victory at Bryan College. On Saturday she would also play a role in Lee's doubleheader sweep of Gulf South Conference opponent West Alabama. The senior was 4-for-8 with a double and four runs scored as the Lady Flames topped UWA 10-5 and 6-5.

Coscorrosa leads the team with a .420 batting average on the season. She has hit 10 doubles and three home runs while driving in a team-leading 35 runs. The native of Venezuela bounces between first base and catcher for coach Emily Russell.

Coscorrosa and the Lady Flames will take some time off for spring break before welcoming Bryan College to Butler Field for a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday, Mar. 19. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
