Lexie Dean has been named Lee University's Female Athlete of the Week after helping to guide the Lady Flames to a clean sweep of Christian Brothers University last weekend to close out regular season play.

Dean opened the series on Saturday in game one going 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored as the Lady Flames cruised to a 11-1 run-rule victory. The sophomore would continue her tear at the plate in the nightcap as she finished a perfect 3-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored. Once again Lee made quick work of the Lady Bucs, winning 11-2 in five innings.

The Ooltewah native wrapped up the weekend with a triple, two runs scored and a RBI  in Sunday's 11-0 (5 innings) blanking of CBU. For the weekend Dean went 6-for-8 (.750) with four RBI and six runs scored.

The first-baseman finished the regular season hitting at a sizzling .447 mark with nine doubles and 23 RBI.

Dean and the Lady Flames (23-22) will now gear up for postseason play in the NCCAA. The Mid-East Regional kicks things off in Clinton, Miss. on May 1-3. If Lee wins the region they will advance to play in the NCCAA National Tournament on May 15-17 in Roanoke, Va.
