Lee University women's golfer Caroline Moore grabbed the national spotlight this week as she was named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Women's Golfer of the Week.

Moore, a red-shirt freshman from London, Ky. helped direct the Lee women's golf team to a first-place finish in the Smokey Mountain Intercollegiate, hosted by Carson-Newman College.

Moore put together rounds of 73-76 in the 36-hole event and placed fourth in the individual competition with a 149.

"This is a great honor for Caroline to start the year," said head coach John Maupin. "She has been waiting to tee it up for us for a while now (red-shirted last season). I think she showed that she was ready to play. She put a lot of work in over the past year, and I'm happy to see her efforts rewarded with this recognition."
