Starting in 2000 Dr. Knight joined the Lee University faculty as an Athletic Training Instructor and became the Lee University Athletics Team Physician. In 2005 he obtained is Athletic Training Certification and oversaw the athletic trainers. He has worked faithfully with Lee Athletes and the Lee Health Clinic over the last 21 years.   
 
Dr. DeWayne Knight was a 1973 graduate of Lee College. From there he went on to graduate from the University of Tennessee-Memphis Medical School in 1977. 

Knight served as a Chattanooga Family Medicine Intern at Erlanger Hospital from 1977-80. From there he started a private practice from 1980-85 before entering the fast-paced world of Emergency Room Physician from 1985-2000.
