Volleyball Falls to No. 14 Florida Southern

Lady Flames Jump Back into GSC Play Tuesday at Union


 

CARROLLTON, Ga. – Facing the No. 14 team in the country the Lee volleyball team fell to Florida Southern College to close out the South Region Crossover from West Georgia on Saturday Morning. 

The high-powered Mocs jumped out to an early lead with a 25-19 victory in set one and never looked back. The Lady Flames lost set two 25-12. Lee rallied to tie things up at 15-15 in the third set before being edged by FSC by a 25-23 final.

Sophomore Brooke Wilsman continued her solid play and led Lee with eight kills. Silvia Sartori added six slams while Blaire Beamer and Catherine Conley chipped in five and six kills respectively. Hillary Hoffpauir registered 11 assists.

Stephanie Hernandez roamed the back line for Lee and finished with 15 digs. Sartori was active on the front line with three blocks.

The Mocs balanced attack featured Brindl Langley with 11 kills and Kayshia Brady had nine. Lauren Shlemon got things going with 18 assists.

The Lady Flames drop to 8-11 on the year while Florida Southern improves to 15-3.

Lee will look to get back in the win column on Tuesday when they travel to Union University for a Gulf South Conference showdown. The Lady Flames claimed a 3-0 sweep of the Lady Bulldogs in Walker Arena back on Oct. 6.
