The Lee volleyball team will look to punch its ticket to the Gulf South Conference tournament with a win tonight against Mississippi College in the home finale.
The Lady Flames currently sit in a tie for the sixth and final spot in the postseason field with a 9-10 mark (14-14 overall). The Choctaws are just 3-15 in league play but are coming off a 3-1 home victory over Alabama Huntsville last weekend.
HOME SWEET HOME
Playing on the sport court in front of the loud and passionate home crowd has certainly been a benefit for the Lady Flames this season. Lee holds an 8-3 mark inside Walker Arena and is currently riding a six-match home winning streak.
FILLING THE VOID
After power hitting sophomore Silvia Sartori suffered a season-ending knee injury in a win against West Florida back on Oct. 29 the Lady Flames have been looking for other players to step in the gap.
One of those players has been senior middle blocker Cat Conley. The Acworth, Ga. native has recorded 42 kills over the last four matches, helping Lee stay on pace for postseason play with a 3-1 record in those matches.
Junior outside hitter Brooke Wilsman has also emerged with 38 slams since Sartori went down. Wilsman helped elevate some pressure off the back row as well with double-digit digs in four straight games. Sophomore Makayla Beebe is second in the GSC with 498 digs while Sadie Johnson ranks seventh with 659 assists.
LAST TIME THEY MET
Consistent play by the front line helped produce an Oct. 8 victory in Clinton, Miss. for the Lady Flames. Crystal Dedes, paced the Lady Flames effort that night with 11 kills and a solid .435 attack percentage.

Wilsman (9 kills, 15 digs, 2 blocks) joined Conley (9 kills, .368 attack percentage, 2 blocks) and Carly Callahan (8 kills) in helping the front line secure the victory. The attacks were made possible by 25 assists by Johnson and 22 from Kristi Farley. Beebe was solid defensively with 23 digs and also contributed two aces.
The Choctaws were led by 11 kills from Jessica Campbell, 24 assists from Bailee Berringer and 20 digs by Madison Kimes.
Lee holds a 5-0 mark all-time against the Choctaws.
