WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Lee University Track & Field teams finished the non-championship portion of the indoor season with four more school records and three more NCAA Division II provisional marks at the UCS Invitational on Saturday.

The new school records came from the men's and women's distance medley relays, Josiah Brooks in the long jump and Derek Flatford in the 60 meter hurdles.

The men's distance medley relay team also met the provisional mark. Justin and Josiah Brooks met the provisional standard in the 200 meter.

"Both distance medley relays had strong showings today," said Lee head coach Caleb Morgan. "We put our best teams on the line and felt good about both team's chances to get a top 12 ranking going in. The men were four seconds off. It's tough to be so close. I'm sure it will fuel their preparation for the outdoor season."

The women's distance medley relay team of Jessica Childers, Adrian Martin, Cayce Bryan and Audrey Smith finished seventh with a time of 12:17.29. That time is the 23rd-quickest in DII this season. The men's team of Brandon Raleigh, Justin Brooks, Harold Smith and Christian Noble were ninth at 10:06.78, No. 15 in the nation.

Josiah Brooks recorded a distance of 6.85 meters to place third in the long jump, while Flatford was eighth (6.39 meters). Flatford was sixth with a mark of 8.63 in the preliminaries of the 60 meter hurdles for a new Lee record.a

In the men's 200 meter, Josiah Brooks was second (22.00) and Justin Brooks was right behind in third (22.08). Their times were converted to 21.62 and 21.70 due to track size and surpassed the provisional mark of 21.83. Justin's time is ranked No. 20 in the nation and Josiah's puts him at No. 24.

Alex Carter finished 33rd in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:12.07 and Seth Eagleson finished 14th (8:55.35) in the 3000 meter.

Raleigh, Alex Carter, Moises Ponce and Jared Herzog took on the mile run. Raleigh was 14th (4:25.50) and Carter finished 17th (4:29.13). Ponce crossed the line in 25th (4:33.95) and Herzog was 35th (4:41.08).
