BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Lee University men's track and field team earned two Gulf South Conference awards this week. In the first outdoor meet of the year, Stephen Clark and Gage Whited were recognized by the conference. Clark was the track athlete of the week while Whited was the freshman of the week.
Gage Whited competed in the 100-meter race and 200-meter race at the Lee Invitational this past weekend. The freshman set personal best in both events and placed first overall in the 100 at the meet and fourth overall in the 200. His time of 10.4 in the 100 is a provisional mark and currently ranks him eighth in the nation. He is currently ranked secind in the 100 and third in the 200 in conference standings.
Stephen Clark competed in 3000-meter steeplechase at the Lee Invitational this past weekend. He won the event at 8:57.45 and hit the provisional standard. He is currently ranked first in the nation and first in conference standings.
