YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Lee University lacrosse team opened Gulf South Conference (GSC) play Wednesday afternoon with a 23-1 loss at Young Harris College.
The game was originally scheduled to be played at Lee's South Quad Field, but due to rain was moved to the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field. The Apr. 12 game has been relocated to Lee.
The Lady Flames (0-3, 0-1 GSC) received a goal from Madeline Perrigo. It was Perrigo's third goal of the season. Rachel Duda was credited with her second career assist.
Young Harris was picked by the GSC coaches as the preseason favorite to win the conference championship. The Mountain Lions (3-1, 2-1 GSC) led 16-0 at the halftime break.
Lee will conclude a three-game road stretch on Saturday at the University of Montevallo. The GSC battle is scheduled for 2 p.m. EST.
