The Lee University women's lacrosse team faced Lincoln Memorial University Monday afternoon at Lee's South Quad Field for the first of three games this week and came away with a 17-4 defeat.
All four of the Lee goals came from a free position shot. Brianne Schapira led the hosts with two goals. Madeline Perrigo and Hanah Rotello added one each.
The Railsplitters (3-5) posted the game's first six goals before Perrigo scored with 5:24 remaining in the opening half. LMU added three more goals to go into the halftime break up 9-1.
The Lady Flames (0-7) added three more goals in the second half, including two consecutive by Schapira to make the score 15-4. LMU added two more goals in the last seven minutes for the final margin.
Zoe Zervos led LMU with four goals and two assists. Jasmin Click added three goals to go with an assist, while Kennedy Buechner and Heather Roache tallied two goals each.
Lee returns to action on Friday against The University of Virginia's College at Wise. The non-conference matchup is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start on the South Quad Field.
