BOONE,N.C. -- Madeline Perrigo and Brianne Schapira combined for seven goals, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Flames lacrosse team lost 18-9 at Lees-McRae College Saturday afternoon.
Lee (0-5) trailed 10-4 at halftime after being down just 4-2 with 14 minutes off the clock. Lees-McRae (1-2) scored nine of the next 11 goals to push their lead to nine.
Perrigo finished with four goals on four shots to make her season total seven. She also recorded eight ground balls and four draw controls.
Schapira added three goals to the tally. She now has a team-leading eight goals for the season. The attacker also picked up four ground balls.
Hanah Rotello and Jayne Renfro rounded out the Lee scoring with one goal each. Rotello added an assist.
The Lady Flames return to action on Mar. 14 against Shorter University. The Gulf South Conference contest is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start at Lee's South Quad Field.
