Mountain Lions Spoil Lady Flames Home Finale

Lee Travels to Shorter For Final Game On Friday



The Lee University women's lacrosse team lost 21-1 to Young Harris College in its final home game Wednesday afternoon. The Gulf South Conference game was played at Lee's South Quad Field.

Young Harris (9-7, 6-1 GSC) grabbed a quick lead with a goal from Kelsey Dover 22 seconds into the game. Nicole Kernohan scored the eventual game-winning goal with 1:15 off the clock.

Dover and Kernohan finished with five goals each with Kernohan adding two assists. Kendra Parenteau posted four goals and an assist. Rachel Lepine, Maddie Peek and Kaylynn Roach added two goals each. Peak tallied four assists.

Brianne Schapira scored her 20th goal of the season with 7:04 left in the first half to spoil the Mountain Lions' pursuit of a shutout.

The Lady Flames will carry an overall record of 0-13 (0-7 GSC) into Friday's season finale at Shorter University. The GSC matchup is scheduled for 6 p.m.
