CLINTON, Miss. – The Lee University volleyball team began a stretch of four road matches with a 3-0 loss at Mississippi College Friday evening. The Choctaws (8-17, 3-6 GSC) posted set scores of 25-18, 25-10 and 25-19 to hand the Lady Flames (9-17, 2-9 GSC) their seventh consecutive loss.
MC tallied 41 kills with an attack percentage of .303, while the Lady Flames recorded 23 kills against 16 attack errors to post an attack percentage of .071.
Quinne Daoust tallied a team-leading five kills. Mary Katherine Givhan, Bailey Kress and Abby Stroh added four kills each. Hanna Matthews dished out 16 of the Lady Flames' 22 assists to go with seven digs.
Micaela McMichen came up with a team-high 14 digs. Daoust had nine and Stroh supplied another seven digs.
Jamie Boros and Lexi Richards led the Choctaws with 11 kills each. The hosts also had two players with double-digit assists. Lexie Laurendine posted a match-high 18 assists and Levi Lennard dished out 13 more.
Mississippi College showed success with eight combined service aces. Julia Martin, Brandi Bundy and Laurendine registered two aces a piece. Martin also had 15 digs.
The Lady Flames travel to Livingston, Alabama, for another GSC battle with West Alabama on Saturday at 2 p.m. EDT.
