The Flames took a 6-5 lead in the seventh inning when Parker Stahlman singled up the middle to drive home two. Stahlman finished the contest with three RBI.

Blaine Crim tied it back up at 6-6 with a home run down the left field line in the eighth inning and Grant Barber gave the Choctaws the lead for good with a single to center in the ninth.

Ryan Lane (4-2) pitched two scoreless innings and struck out two in the ninth to earn the victory for Mississippi College.

Alan Rickman was effective over six innings on the bump for the Flames. The righty allowed four hits and three runs over six innings. The Flames bullpen yielded four runs over three innings. Michael Hendricks (2-3) pitched 2.1 relief innings and allowed two runs on three hits while striking out three.

Miguel Pimentel got Lee on the board with a RBI triple in the first inning. Justin Fragale made it 2-0 with a run-scoring groundout. After Mississippi College on got on the in fourth the Flames made it 4-1 with two more runs. The Choctaws responded with three runs in the seventh to tie things up at 5-5.

Though we didn't get the result we wanted, I was pleased with how we competed and remained composed today.  It's something we can build off if we can play this competitively all the time. We still have lots of opportunities left, but we need to have an edge and lots of urgency moving forward.

The loss drops Lee to 11-15 and 4-6 in the GSC. Mississippi College improves to 14-9 and 7-4 in league action.

The Flames will look to exact some revenge on Young Harris College as they travel to play the Mountain Lions on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. Lee dropped two to Young Harris last week at Olympic Field.
