RESULTS THROUGH DAY 2

KINGSVILLE, Texas – Christian Noble and Josiah Brooks combined to score seven points to put the Lee University men's track & field team in 18^th following two days of competition in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Javelina Stadium.

Noble recorded four points with a fifth-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase. He crossed the finish line at 8:58.22. Leakey Kipkosgei of American International was the winner with a time of 8:52.86.

Brooks placed sixth in the triple jump to add three points to the tally. His best jump of the day was a season-best 15.57 meters. Cervantes Jackson of Albany State claimed the individual championship with a new meet record 16.65 meters.

With their top-eight finishes, both Noble and Brooks have earned NCAA Division II First Team All-American status in the steeplechase and triple jump, respectively.

Brooks also advanced to Saturday's 200-meter dash final after finishing second his heat with a time of 21.27 seconds. Justin Brooks was the final athlete to advance on time after finishing fourth in the third heat with a time of 21.24.

Josiah and Justin were joined by Jeremiah McCain and Siphosethu Boya in the 4x400-meter relay preliminary round. The foursome grabbed one of the two automatic qualifiers in Heat No. 1 by crossing the finish line second at 3:10.62. Emoria State was the top team in the heat with a time of 3:10.21. St. Augustine's posted the quickest relay team, stopping the clock at 3:07.52.  

Justin Brooks begins Saturday's action with the 400-meter final at 7:25 p.m. EDT, followed by the 200-meter final together with Josiah Brooks at 8:55 p.m. Chloe Flora competes in the 5000-meter run at 9:05 p.m. The three-day championships will conclude with the 4x400 relay final at 10:05 p.m.
