PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Lee volleyball's team upset bid of No. 13 West Florida came up short in a 3-1 loss on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Flames stunned the Argonauts with a 25-22 as Hannah Upton slammed home the set point to give Lee the early advantage.

From there the talented Argos settled in and took the next three sets comfortably, 25-14, 25-15, 25-16 to move to 17-4 and 9-1 in the GSC. Lee falls to 5-16 and 3-6 in league play.

Upton posted a double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs. Macy Petty added eight and Abby Stroh tallied six kills. Ashton Middleton registered 19 assists and Kamryn Halpin had 17 digs.

"Our energy and effort were at the level where we wanted it to be and saw a lot of improvement from yesterday," said Interim Head Coach Silvia Beauzile. "I am very pleased on how we competed against a top team in the conference. I'm excited to keep working on our game and growing as a team."

The Lady Flames will set outside of GSC play over the next week. On Tuesday they welcome Peach Belt Conference foe Young Harris College to Walker Arena for a 6 p.m. first serve. Next weekend Lee will take part in the GSC/Sunshine State Crossover Tournament in Birmingham, Ala.
