Track & Field Collects DII-Leading 59 All-Region Honors

USTFCCCA ALL-REGION HONORS LIST

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Region hoors for the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season Wednesday afternoon. The top five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-three ranked relay team. Only USTFCCCA member programs were eligible for awards.

Lee University recorded the most combined honors with 59. The Lady Flames accounted for 32 honors, while the Flames tallied 27. The Lady Flames shared the top spot with the most women's All-Regions with Azusa Pacific University.

The Flames and Lady Flames helped the Gulf South Conference accumulate the second-most (161) in DII. The South Atlantic Conference was first with 166 and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (158) was third.

Carissa Hall led all Lee student-athletes with five All-Region honors, including two Top Region Performances. Hall was All-Region in the 4x100-Meter Relay, 200-Meter Dash, 400-Meter Dash, Long Jump and Triple Jump. She posted the top mark in the South Region in the 400 and Long Jump.

Celine Ritter added four more All-Region honors in the 800-Meter Run, 1500-Meter Run, 5000-Meter Run and 10000-Meter Run. Ritter was the Top Region Performer in all but the 800 distance.

Toni Moore and Kristen Blevins gathered three All-Region nods each. Moore earned the honor in the 1500-Meter Run, 5000-Meter Run and the 3000-Meter Steeplechase where she posted the region's best time. Blevins made All-Region in the 4x100 Relay, the 100-Meter Dash and recorded the top time in the 200-Meter Dash.

Aria Hawkins (800, 1500), Danielle Horter (5000, 10000), Liza Kellerman (800, 1500), Deborah Rubin (Shot Put, Hammer Throw), Liezl Theron (400-Meter Hurdles, High Jump) and Hannah Wright (4x100 Relay, 100-Meter Hurdles) were each two-time All-Region winners.

Five Lady Flames reached All-Region status in one event each. Those honored were Elizabeth Beckham (Steeplechase), Ashlyn Iliff (Steeplechase), Olivia McLain (10000), Janay Ryan (4x100 Relay) and Sydney White (Heptathlon).

The men were led by Jeremiah McCain's four All-Region performances. McCain was part of the All-Region 4x400-Meter Relay team. He was All-Region and the Top Region Performer in the 4x100-Meter Relay, 400-Meter Dash and 400-Meter Hurdles.

Christian Noble was second with three honors in the 800, 1500 and 5000. He was the Top Region Performer in the 1500 and 5000 races.

Eli Brooks (Pole Vault, Javelin), Silusapho Dingiswayo (4x100 Relay, 200), Wynan Du Toit (4x400 Relay, 400), Caleb Eagleson (5000, 10000), Titus Lagat (4x400 Relay, 800), Caleb Long (Javelin, Decathlon) and Daniel Surman (Pole Vault, Decathlon) added their names to the All-Region list in two events a piece.

Stacen Cunningham and Ian Thomas were half of the All-Region 4x100 Relay team. Nokia Masengu (4x400 Relay), Gift Nkosi (High Jump), Will Stone (1500) and Camden Williams (Discus) rounded out the Flames earning All-Region recognition.
