RESULTS
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Lee University women's track & field team recorded three Lee records and two NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks at the University of South Alabama Jaguar Invitational on Sunday. The event was held at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The Lady Flames will return to the CrossPlex February 14-15 for the Gulf South Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Kristen Blevins finished the 60-meter dash with a second-place time of 7.54 seconds. The time eclipsed her previous Lee record of 7.55 seconds and met the provisional time of 7.66. She currently holds the 16
th-fastest 60 time in DII this season.
Brynn Depinet improved her Lee record in the pole vault by 0.15 meters. She finished sixth after clearing 3.65 meters. The previous mark was 3.50 meters.
Jydia Faucette was the third Lady Flame to post a record performance. Faucette beat her previous mark of 5.61 meters in the long jump with a leap of 5.62 meters to finish fifth. Carissa Hall was sixth with a long jump of 5.60 meters and Liezl Theron covered 4.83 meters for 25
th. Theron was also 14
th with a high jump of 1.54 meters. Hall and Faucette also took on the triple jump. Hall placed fifth with a measurement of 11.40 meters. Faucette covered 11.04 meters to finish eighth.
Hall met the provisional standard of 57.03 in the 400-meter dash. She finished ninth with a time of 57.01, the 35
th-best qualifying mark. Kaia Martz stopped the clock at 58.74 for 18
th and Janay Ryan was 20
th (59.32).
Blevins added a 15
th-place finish at the 200-meter distance. She completed the race at 25.45 seconds. Baylie Murphy was 34
th (26.64) and Jaila Whitaker was 35
th (26.69). Murphy and Whitaker also competed in the 60 with Murphy placing 17
th at 7.78, while Whitaker was 34
th (8.01).
The Lady Flames entered two 4x400-meter relay teams. The foursome of Martz, Blevins, Ryan and Sydney White placed seventh with a total time of 4:01.48. Hall, Faucette, Murphy and Theron combined to finish ninth (4:04.74).
Faucette and White were 28
th (9.30) and 43
rd (10.00), respectively, in the 60-meter hurdles. Katie Krueger completed the mile in 5:16.02 for ninth place and Ashlyn Iliff was 29
th (2:31.24) in the 800.
Elizabeth Beckham, Elizabeth Heckman and Phoebe Moran were part of the 3000-meter field. Beckham crossed the line at 10:45.42 for 15
th. Heckman (10:53.34) was 21
st with Moran just behind in 22
nd (10:55.19).
Deborah Rubin and Symphony Buxton battled in the shot put with Nitia Howard joining them in the weight throw. Rubin was eighth in the shot put at 13.00 meters and seventh with a weight throw of 16.44 meters. Buxton finished ninth after throwing the weight 15.82 meters and her throw of 12.55 meters placed her 12
th in the shot. Howard recorded a weight throw of 11.56 meters to finish 29
th.
