RESULTS
MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Lee University track & field teams completed the indoor and outdoor sweep after claiming the 2026 GSC Outdoor Track & Field Championships Friday afternoon at the University of Montevallo Track & Field Stadium. The Lady Flames and Flames also claimed the 2026 GSC Indoor Track & Field Championships back in February.
The Lady Flames claimed their ninth consecutive GSC Outdoor Track & Field Championship after collecting 257.5 points to win the team title by 51 points. Alabama Huntsville was second with 206.5 points and Mississippi College finished third (178).
The Flames used 23 points in the 200-meter dash to pull away from UAH to win their third team championship over the last four seasons by 21.5 points. UAH finished in second place with 192.5 points, while Mississippi College (183) was third and Montevallo (163.5) placed fourth.
With her performances over the last three days, Aria Hawkins was named the Most Outstanding Overall Performer and the Most Outstanding Track Performer. Gracie Waite earned recognition as the Most Outstanding Field Performer. Pierre Chauveau was announced as the Men's Most Outstanding Track Performer.
Waite began the final day with a first-place finish in the shot put. She claimed her second individual championship of the last two days with a throw of 13.23 meters. Samara Brinks finished seventh with a throw of 11.51 meters.
Waite and Brinks also competed in the javelin where Waite placed seventh with a mark of 35.29 meters. Brinks finished 14
th after a throw of 31.65 meters.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Jydia Faucette, Liz Lannom, Amelia Wedemeyer and Maddox Mayfield placed third with a combined time of 46.74 seconds to open the day's track events.
Hawkins led three other Lady Flames into the top seven of the 1500-meter run. Hawkins secured the individual title with a time of 4:25.31. Maria Mitchell finished third (4:27.25), Katie Beam was sixth (4:34.53) and Ava Sparks placed seventh (4:36.63). Lucy Guthrie's time of 4:47.35 put her in 12
th.
Lannom added another championship to the Lady Flames' total after crossing the finish line of the 100-meter hurdles in first place with a time of 13.77 seconds. Marisa Hennix finished fifth (15.32) with Wedemeyer in sixth (15.58) and Lily Brown seventh (15.83). Lannom also placed third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.92 seconds.
Mayfield stopped the clock at 54.49 seconds to place second in the 400-meter dash. Addison Bleisath was 13
th at 1:02.43.
Two more Lady Flames landed in the top four of the 800-meter run. Beam was third with a time of 2:13.78, while Abi Moore was right behind in fourth (2:14.31. Hawkins crossed the finish line at 2:33.90 for 14
th place.
Annika Barrett led the Lee contingent in the 400-meter hurdles. She placed second with a time of 1:03.52. Brown followed in fourth with a time of 1:04.49 and Wedemeyer was seventh (1:08.33).
Mayfield and Lannom added eight more points in the 200-meter dash. Mayfield placed fourth (24.70) and Lannom was sixth (24.80).
The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Barrett, Wedemeyer, Bleisath and Faucette claimed fourth place with a combined time of 4:05.30.
Timothy Doolittle started the day for the men with a 15
th place finish in the javelin with a throw of 35.44 meters. Rodney Ngezimani grabbed fourth place in the shot put with a mark of 15.39 meters and Ian Trill was sixth with a throw of 14.92 meters. Spencer Myren was 12
th at 13.43 meters and Carrington Tate finished 15
th in the shot put with a measurement of 12.41 meters.
Cooper Giddens, Shaw Helfrich, Eli Cobble and Gage Whited combined to place fourth in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 41.17 seconds. Isaac Iosia (15.15) and Helfrich (15.29) were sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 110-meter hurdles. Whited added a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.51 seconds, while Giddens finished fifth (10.77).
Chauveau and Clark were the top two finishers in the 1500 with Chauveau taking the top spot at 3:52.37 and Clark a close second at 3:53.25. Nathan Fontan finished eighth (3:58.32) and Luke Gaddis was ninth (3:58.46) with Ryan Lovelace in 15
th (4:07.03).
Cobble stopped the clock at 47.95 seconds to record a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash. Liam Runkle was fifth (48.80). Aiden Shaw (49.06) placed 10
th and Travis Coley was 13
th (50.35).
Three Flames placed in the top seven of the 800-meter run. Parker Campbell finished third (1:50.77), William Adkins was fifth (1:51.33) and Chauveau seventh (1:52.24). Elliot Anderson's time of 1:55.90 put him in 12
th and Ben Flanigan (1:56.43) 14
th.
John Womack, Iosia and Andrew DeLorenzo were Lee's representatives in the 400-meter hurdles. Womack collected one point with an eighth-place time of 57.34 seconds. Iosia finished 12
th (59.87) and DeLorenzo was 13
th (1:07.89).
In the pivotal 200 final, Whited finished first with a championship time of 21.08 seconds. Giddens was third (21.24), Cobble (21.61) placed fourth and Shaw was seventh (21.98).
The men completed the week in the 4x400-meter relay where Coley, Campbell, Chauveau and Runkle finished fifth with a time of 3:20.32.
