CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Eleven of the 14 Lee University women's basketball players saw double-digit minutes of action in a 70-37 victory over Bryan College inside Walker Arena on Monday evening. The win improved the Lady Flames' record to 4-0 and they will face a tougher test on Saturday when they host Division II opponent Kentucky State University at 2 p.m.
Mallory Hampton made 6-of-10 shots overall, including 4-of-6 3-pointers in leading the Lee scoring with 17 points. She also had five rebounds and six assists. Anna Muhonen got off to a quick start and hit 5-of-7 field goal attempts and was 3-of-3 from the charity stripe in finishing with 13 points.
Baylee Delbridge and Mia Alexander came off the bench to score eight points apiece. Delbridge was 2-of-2 in field goal attempts and made 4-of-4 free throws. Alexander made a pair of 3-pointers while Mia Hurst led the Lady Flames in rebounding with eight and Addison Smith pulled down six. Overall, Lee outrebounded the Lady Lions 43-24.
For the game, Lee shot 44% overall (24-of-55). It was not a good-shooting night from long range as they made just 29% (9-of-31). The Lady Flames went to the free-throw stripe 16 times and made 13. The defense held Bryan to 27% shooting from the field (15-of-49). The visitors connected on only 4-of-26 triples (15%) and made 7-of-10 free throws. The Lady Lions were guilty of 22 turnovers and Lee committed 18 floor mistakes.
Ten different Bryan players scored in the game while Autumn Davis was the leader with six markers and Ashton Estrada was the rebound leader with seven. However, she played less than 20 minutes because of foul problems.

"We certainly did not play our best, especially in the first half. But give Bryan credit, they had a lot to do with that. I am encouraged by how some of the young players competed down the stretch. We will look forward to getting back to work on Wednesday to prepare for Kentucky State."
