Men's Cross Country Finishes 16th at NCAA DII Championships

RESULTS

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Lee University men's cross country team recorded 490 points to finish 16th out of 34 teams at the 2024 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships Saturday on at a muddy Arcade Creek Cross Country Course.

This is the fourth straight season the Flames finished in the top 20 of the DII championships. Lee placed 17th in 2021, 16th in 2002 and posted the program's best finish at 14th in 2023.

Colorado School of Mines was the team champion with 63 points. Wingate (66) was a close second with Adams State in third with 113 points. The Flames were the top finisher among the three South Region teams. Alabama Huntsville finished 22nd (554) and Mississippi College was 30th (735).

William Amponsah of West Texas A&M was the overall individual winner of the 10K race at 29:40.8. Edimo Ninteretse was Lee's top finisher at 31:08.1. He placed 78th out of 239 runners.

Ryan Lovelace crossed the finish line at 31:12.0 for 84th place. Pierre Chauveau placed 107th with a time of 31:25.1. Aaron Himes and Owen Pearce completed the Lee scoring. Himes (31:49.5) finished 147th and Pearce was 153rd (31:53.2).

Xian Campbell and Luke Gaddis were the spacers for the Flames. Campbell completed the circuit at 32:39.0 for 181st. Gaddis' time of 32:59.4 put him 220th.
