BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Lee University men's track & field team sent just 15 athletes to the University of South Alabama Jaguar Invitational but still finished ninth out of 21 teams. The meet was held at the Birmingham CrossPlex on Sunday.
The Flames put three runners in the top-seven of the 3000-meter run. Jon Fielding Stogner finished second with a time of 8:22.67. Stephen Clark was fourth at 8:34.73 and Caleb Guthery crossed the line at 8:44.19 for seventh.
Luke Gaddis stopped the clock at 14:57.78 to finish fifth in the 5000-meter run. Tal Old completed the circuit at 15:49.13 (11
th).
Justin Steele placed fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.01 seconds, while Eli Cobble was 20
th (50.39). Ian Newman recorded a time of 22.71 seconds to finish 25
th in the 200-meter dash.
Kenneth Bishop took on the 800-meter and mile runs. He finished 12
th in the mile at 4:24.63 and his time of 2:00.09 was good for 18
th in the 800.
Cameron Stine cleared 1.91 meters to place 11
th in the high jump. He added a 23
rd-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles after posting a time of 8.80 seconds. Caleb Long was right behind at 8.88 seconds (24
th). Long covered 5.90 meters to place 25
th in the long jump.
Eli Brooks collected a ninth-place finish after a successful clearance of 4.62 meters in the pole vault. Braxton Philpott and Brody Morgan were Lee's two competitors in the weight throw. Philpott placed

th with a throw of 14.87 meters, while Morgan's mark of 13.70 meters put him in 17
th.
The Flames are scheduled to compete at the Music City Challenge next weekend. The two-day event will be held February 9-10 inside the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility.
