BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- After a stellar first weekend of her career, Lee University freshman Sara Palumbo was named Gulf South Conference freshman of the week. The freshman helped lead the Lady Flames to their first 4-0 start since 2019.

After the opening week, she is second in the GSC in kills with 58 with a .302% hit percentage. She added 8 services aces and an assist. Defensively, she had 31 digs as an outside hitter with a .939 receiving percentage. She also had one block.

The Lady Flames will open the home portion of their home schedule with the Flame Invitational Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14.
