Lady Flames Have Successful Weekend

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Blacksburg, Va. - The Lee University women's track team competed at two different this weekend. One of the meets was the Doc Hale Meet in Blacksburg, Va. That was hosted by Virginia Tech University. The other meet was the Green and Gold Meet hosted by the University of Alabama-Birmingham in Birmingham, Ala.

In Virginia, Aria Hawkins had another strong meet. She ran a 4:42 in the mile which is the second fastest time in program history. Her run was second only to her own best of 4:41. She also anchored the DMR which ran a provisional qualifying time of 11:37. That time was good enough for fourth place.
Maddox Mayfield came in 30th in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:00.10. In the women's one mile, Megan Adams was tenth with a time of 5:01.70.

At the UAB Green and Gold Meet, Liz Lannom set new personal bests in both the 60-meter hurdles and 200 meter run. She also set a new program record in the 200m with the second fastest time in school history at 24.43. In the 60 meter hurdles, she made finals and finished fourth with a time of 8.68.
Gracie Waite set a new school record in the shotput with a throw of 13.78m. Sydney White had a 59.12 in the 400 meter. Katie Krueger came in 15th in the 800 meter with a time of 2:26.90. She also was ninth in the mile with a time of 5:11.74.

Ashlyn Iliff was second in the 3000-meter with a time of 10:14.42. Liezl Theron completed the high jump with a 1.58 meter mark. Lannom also had a 4.90 meter mark in the long jump. Brynn Depinet hit a 3.81 meter pole vault to finish second. Samaria Brinks was 22nd in the weight throw with a 13.97 meter. Jydia Faucette was 15th in the triple jump at 10.89 meters.

The Lady Flames will compete in the Music Indoor Challenge this weekend in Nashville, Tenn.
