BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Lee University women's track and field team swept the weekly awards from the Gulf South Conference as announced by the league on Wednesday. Ana Patricia Campos was named co-track athlete of the week, Liz Lannom was the freshman of the week, and Liezl Theron was field athlete of the week.
Campos hit a NCAA provisional mark in the 5000 meter run with a time of 16:43.40. Her run is the third fastest in NCAA DII currently and tops in the GSC.
Theron set a provisional mark in the high jump. she cleared a mark of 1.72 meters which is currently second best in NCAA DII. She ran the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 14.78.
Lannom scored 4452 points in the heptathlon this past weekend which is best in the GSC. She also hit a provisional mark in the 100-meter hurdles. She ran it in 14.29 which in ninth best in the country at the NCAA DII level.
