Flames Complete Second Home Meet of Season in Fourth Place

RESULTS

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Lee University men's track & field team placed fourth at the Lee University – Fast Break Athletics Invitational this weekend at the Ray Conn Sports Complex. The Flames also met the NCAA Division II Provisional in two events with one new.

Ashland University was first with 88 points and Saginaw Valley State University was right behind in second with 87 points. Cedarville University placed third with 84 points, while Lee accumulated 72 points for fourth.

Evan Moore met the provisional time of 3:48.16 in the 1500-meter run with a fourth-place time of 3:46.81. Jacob Hatcher placed 12th with a time of 3:50.54. Parker Campbell finished 20th (3:54.59) with Caleb Guthery right behind in 21st (3:54.66). Tal Old crossed the line at 4:00.87 for 34th.

Edimo Ninteretse once again finished ahead of the standard of 14:17.53 in the 5000-meter run. He placed third with a time of 14:14.61 but was unable to improve his top time of 13:57.39 from the Raleigh Relays.

Joining Ninteretse in the 5K were Pierre Chauveau, Aaron Himes, Luke Gaddis and Stephen Clark. Chauveau's time of 14:24.01 put him in ninth. Himes (14:38.35) finished 19th, Gaddis (14:39.91) was 20th and Clark placed 22nd (14:43.89.

The Flames had three runners compete in the 100-meter dash. Aiden Shaw placed seventh at 10.74 seconds, Cooper Giddens was 13th (10.95) and Carter Duncan finished 20th (12.14).

Shaw and Giddens were also in the 200-meter and 400-meter races. In the 200, Shaw (21.69) finished fourth and Giddens (22.22) was 17th. Shaw covered 400 meters in 48.35 seconds for third place and Giddens was ninth (50.27).

Moore was Lee's first runner across the finish line of the 800-meter run. He was sixth overall with a time of 1:52.50. Hatcher placed 12th (1:53.22) and Campbell was 27th (1:55.65). The final three Lee finishers were David Johnson, Ethan King and John Womack. Johnson was 37th (1:57.71), King finished 50th (1:59.63) and Womack was 62nd (2:03.15).

Xian Campbell was the first of three Flames across the finish line of the 10000-meter run. He posted a seventh-place finish at 30:10.38. Elijah Moran was 23rd (31:12.88) and William Ta (34:19.18) was 46th.

Isaac Iosia placed eighth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.19 seconds and was fifth in the 400-meter hurdles at 57.29 seconds. Cameron Stine was 10th (59.98) and Womack 11th (59.16) in the 400 hurdles.

Old and Guthery were Lee's representatives in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Old stopped the clock at 9:36.58 for fifth and Guthery claimed 10th place (9:50.74).

Hudson Hunt cleared 1.80 meters to finish seventh in the high jump. Stine was fourth in the pole vault with a successful mark of 4.10 meters. Jacob Salters was fourth in the long jump with a measurement of 6.47 meters.

Camden Williams' mark of 15.31 meters placed him fourth in the shot put. Carrington Tate finished 17th with a throw of 11.11 meters and Braxton Philpott was 18th with a mark of 10.96 meters.

Philpott collected a 14th-place finish in the discus with a mark of 40.32 meters. Carter Duncan placed 24th with a throw of 35.87 meters and Stine was 30th at 29.38 meters. Williams and Tate finished in the top 10 of the hammer throw. Williams posted a distance of 45.85 meters for fifth and Tate's throw of 43.27 meters was good for ninth.

Lee put four athletes in the top 20 of the javelin. Duncan placed second with a throw of 50.13 meters and Stine was fourth at 48.82 meters. Myles Mann recorded a mark of 40.18 meters for 13th and Iosia finished 20th with a throw of 35.18 meters.

The Flames travel to Atlanta next weekend to participate in the Georgia Tech Invitational. The two-day meet is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at George C. Griffin Track on the campus of Georgia Tech.
